Sometimes in life you can feel overwhelmed by situations facing you. This can lead to feeling lost, like you have no control and like you have no resources to help you.
However, you are actually closer to getting control than you think you are. It is just a matter of discovering your strengths and also better vantage points from which to view your issues. But first, you need to take that first step.
My goal as a psychotherapist is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating. We can’t change the past, and we don’t know the future, but the work that we can do together right now can help you come to a new vantage point, a new relationship with your way of looking at the past and future and can help you live today in a more fulfilling and rich way. Psychological techniques that I can show you will help you live out the journey of this abundant life both in your own life and your life with other people.
In addition to the strengths I bring you as a licensed clinical social worker with over 23 years of experience whose focus in training is on helping you find a more effective and less turbulent relationship with the people and things in your life, I also bring other skills which distinguish me from other psychotherapists. First, I am also a Pastoral Counselor, which means that I have special skills in working with spiritual issues you may have, regardless of denomination or religion. Even atheists benefit from these skills because I help them find meaning in what they are going through, while still respecting their stance. Second, I have training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a well-researched and state of the art technique for dealing with traumatic memories. Third, I am also trained in Clinical Hypnosis, which can help with reducing anxiety that comes with dealing with difficult situations.
If you’re looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or you’re just ready to move in a new direction in your life, I look forward to working with you and walking with you to achieve your goals. Expect to be treated as an equal and with compassion as you work on improving your life.
