While I don’t particularly care about this article’s mention of a weight loss program, I completely agree with its method for handling panic attacks, which follows:
Practice following these 4 simple steps…
1. Invite your fearful thought in and observe it
2. Label it (that’s a fear of x, or whatever)
3. Step back and watch the thought as it passes by, without judging it
4. Move your attention back to what you were doing before the thought occurred
I am a big proponent of using meditation and mindfulness techniques (e.g. this site in Australia) to deal with mental health issues.
Try the above technique out. I’m sure it’ll help. It won’t be a cure, but it is a treatment.
