Meditation Music

In general, I’m not a fan of using music to help with meditation.  I believe that becomes too distracting.  However, there is music out there that is meditative.  I like the use of ambient music not as an aid to meditation (it would be distracting), but as a means of relaxing in general.  Hey, in this society, we all need to relax, don’t we?

What’s ambient music?  Well, Wikipedia has a good explanation of it.  Basically it is music that usually doesn’t always have a beat and is often quite relaxing, although it doesn’t always have to be.

http://stillstream.com/ is a good place to go to listen to ambient music to get a flavor for what it is like.

I have experimented a little bit with making ambient music.  You can listen to “Rainy Night” here.

Enjoy, and relax.
