Wise words for the day

Whenever you interact with people,
don’t be there primarily as a function or role,
but as a field of conscious presence.
–Eckhart Tolle

I think this sums up what is important in my approach in many ways.

One of my clients once told me that I was paid to care for her. I gently corrected her by saying that I was paid for my education, training, and skills in healing. The caring, I told her, is free.

So often, when facing issues of emotional stress, it is so helpful to just have someone else along for the journey. I see that as one of my roles, a companion along the way. That, too, is free.
