Off At A Hypnosis Conference

I’m currently away at a hypnosis conference in Alexandria, VA, sponsored by the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH–http://asch.net).  I’m learning a lot about what I can do with hypnosis and look forward to using it with clients upon my return who are interested in trying it for issues such as anxiety, pain management, habit control, etc.  While I cannot guarantee results, I believe that it will at the least be quite helpful to many people who see me.

    Hey Nate,
Interesting article. I also noticed your a social worker. Were you exposed to hypnosis training in your MSW training or was it something you picked up on your own. I’ve always been fascinated by the effectiveness of Hypnosis and NLP, but the topic was never approached in graduate school, the closes we got was mindfulness and EMDR.

    How was the conference?

  2. nateprentice says:

Nope. No training or info re hypnosis. I was in social work school before mindfulness really came out. Now I use it quite a bit. I’m also EMDR trained, but not certified. Where do you practice, and have you been trained in EMDR/hypnosis?

  3. Mozart says:

I have mainly been involved in community based mental health and case management on the individual side, but my primary focus is mezzo/macro work with social work and technology, community development, and policy. I plan on taking an EMDR training soon.

EMDR is awesome. I’ve been doing it since the early 90’s and am still astonished every time I do it at how effective it is.
